Inbound connections limit in windows 7 professional

I've red several "opinions" in the web. Windows 7 is IIS 7. And the default concurrent requests is still 10 on workstation OS's. Though on IIS 7 and 7. What does "slows down" exactly mean? Are all requests or just those, which exceed the maximum number, concerned?

Testing is exactly what I want to do. I want to test my application running more than 10 concurrent requests on my developer workstation which is Windows 7 Ultimate.

Say my application uses long running http connections for whatever reason e. And if that's true I assume it's because Microsoft wants you to pay for Windows Server rather than using a desktop OS for your web server. I can understand their need to do that from a business perspective but I would think they would have provided an out for the developer. Like remove the request limit for requests to or from localhost? I tried this and it does not seem to help. Is there any work around for a developer using Windows 7 to experiment with more than 10 concurrent connections?

Yes, sorry if I was not clear. I understand Windows 7 will handle 10 concurrent requests and queue any requests over that is the queue limit by default I believe.

It does not have anything to do with the number of connections that a Windows Professional system can accept at a time. These only apply to server products such as Windows Server.

They do not apply to Windows Professional. What about anonymous Intranet applications? Anonymous Intranet applications do not require a Client Access License CAL as long as server services file, print, remote access are not used, and as long as Intranet users access the server anonymously, that is, they do not use server authentication.

This limit is the number of simultaneous sessions from other computers the system is permitted to host. This limit does not apply to the use of administrative tools that attach to the system from a remote computer.

Once the session is disconnected, one of the 10 connections will be available so that another user can connect to the Windows NT Workstation system. You do not necessarily need Windows NT or Server, since Apache will run fine on a Workstation, allowing unlimited connections although IIS on Workstation is limited to 10 connections.

If you're not sure what to go with, use Windows Pro. It only allows 10 connections at the same time. Apache does not limit the number of connections. Article Number.
