For a while all Arcam and Linn amps came with the BFA outputs, which are what you are referring to, they are physically the opposite way around to the normal 4mm bananas.
Is it possible to buy the crimp tool if you are not a dealer? It is if the dealer is willing to sell one to you, but the cost is not low. Thanks Retro, Yes you are right - they are BFA connectors i'd heard of them, but didn't know they were a different design - had me really confused.
Phaedrus68 Active Member. This really is an old thread, but I've been doing some homework on a new AV set-up for the not too distant future and came across this thread. I'd love to know if a normal crimping tool could achieve the same result? Surely these guys in hi-fi shops aren't wizards who are the only entities on the face of the planet who can operate a crimp? I am not convinced. But by its nature speaker cable is not square it is round, so with will have to be squashed into that shape and possibly leaving gaps, which in turn makes it only mildly better than the original style on the right.
