Browning a5 barrel serial numbers

Browning informed me the gun left the factory in SNs — were invoiced between 1st Jan. New choke codes replaced the choke words stamped on the barrels. No serial number distinction between the Sweet 16 and the Standard 16 gauge A5s. These are among the rarest of the A5 Sweet Sixteen but are priced as standard 16 gauge A5s in value guides. It is also the last year of the non-engraved sweet sixteen. Getting one of these extremely rare original factory issued guns at a standard gun price is a trophy in itself.

I am sorry to ask a silly question. I am not familiar with this gun or any antique shotguns. My husband inherited it from his grandfather and we are trying to find out more about it not to sell it, for personal knowledge.

I can date the gun and barrel with the serial, so the suggestion that the first two digits are a year doesnt hold up in my case. Here is my gun with markings The markings which have me stumped are the ones on the face of the receiver, the number on the barrel as mentioned above, a '1' on the barrel and an 'infinity' or 'lazy 8' on the barrel and finally 'T' on the barrel and barrel extension - Im making the assumption that this is a torque setting in Nm. If you're referring to my earlier post, I said those numbers are unexplained, and the first two numbers could not be the year.

I believe the lazy 8 is the Greek letter Lambda, code for Not necessarily the same year your serial number corresponds to as barrels were often made in advance. Interesting theory about the torque value, but nm is over ft lbs, which seems excessive to me.
