Eb game in winnipeg

It was stressful at times but worth it. The customers were worth it to me. At times reaching sales goals were a bit rough. I had a great team. Pros Amazing industry to work in. The company cares. Employee discounts. The customers rock.

Cons Sales goals sometimes hard to achieve. EB Games is a good company to work for as they treat their employees well and the overall work is not extremely difficult or strenuous. In order to succeed you had to have good sales and customer service skills, good reflexes for using the till, and a good memory for the hundreds of promotions one has to remember. This is not a good job for someone who simply loves video games as beyond product knowledge there is really nothing relating to video games in your job duties.

Pros Managers are very lenient and keep their teams happy. Cons Angry customers, product mistakes, and people calling in sick. Had a good manager who made the job better! However, I spent two years in the company with an extensive background in retail management with no opportunities to move up. Constant pressure on driving warranties and numbers with no incentives or compensation, which would be fine if they didn't make you feel so low when they aren't achieved.

There's also a looming feeling where if you aren't deemed one of their favourites they constantly look past you. Not a bad pit stop if you're looking for work or to build a resume. Work is definitely needed on a corporate level as they reap all the benefits off the store level associates.

Pros 15 percent discount. Cons No advancement. I love working with my team. EB is a great store to work at because it is a great store to visit! A lot of regulars come in to our store, so it's easy to figure out what they are looking for. For someone a bit slower, I would have liked more training on product knowledge and searching the system, but the team is very helpful if I get stuck, and will quickly hop in.

There is a big list of things we need to ask each customer depending on what they are buying, and it can be easy to forget promotions that we have to manually input. An upgraded computer system would be appreciated ours is from '98! Pros Great team and relaxing environment.

Ebgames is an excellent company to work for for those who enjoy games and are knowledgeable regarding the products sold. As an employee you will be expected to offer your opinion on new releases. We want to help you find great companies.

Help us be the best! I very much enjoy my job, the people I work with and for; but mainly the customers. We have regulars like a Cheers bar who come in for the latest and greatest or a chat. Always on your feet and busy. Always something new coming in or out to stay up to date with for information. Has very busy seasons and little down time. Cons Pay. I worked at Eb for a while, and I honestly loved it, the work environment, my manager, and my staff, the only con for working at EB is the amount of stress and upper management.

Eb seems to still be stuck in the 90s with how its run. A update of the Managing director and team would turn this company around.

Another thing that myself and many former staff I know was the District Manager, not doing thier job well, and blaming us store management for thier mistakes and miscommunication Overall a good place to work if you're doing just a sales advisor, you get a lot more stress and a lot more worry as store management. Pros Good work environment, good people.

Cons Upper management. Yes No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. From top to bottom, a terrible place to work. Pushed hard for sales but provided no compensation. The culture feels awful, it seems to be a direct disconnect between caring for there employees and money. Your coworkers are the best part of the job, I do not reccomend this place at all. Pros Coworkers, talking about nerd stuff. Cons Pay, hours, expectations as an employee. Every week they grade employees based on how many warranties they've sold as well as a bunch of other metrics.

This means that they are aware that their standards are set too high, yet management tries to make you feel worthless for not reaching these goals anyway. Your hours are also based on these metrics. Would not recommend working here. Pros Easy job, get to talk about video games. Cons Poor pay, constant pressure to meet impossible standards, few hours.

Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Working at EB Games is hard work for what you get paid. Employees are constantly being reminded to push sales, especially for items we don't actually support for the best interest of our favourite customers.

The selling culture at EB is intense. Your coworkers are the best part of the job, I do not reccomend this place at all. Pros Coworkers, talking about nerd stuff. Working at EB Games is hard work for what you get paid. Employees are constantly being reminded to push sales, especially for items we don't actually support for the best interest of our favourite customers.

The selling culture at EB is intense. This is not the place for you if you genuinely love giving recommendations for good products, because the chances are that those products don't make the company money, therefore you get in trouble.

I did love working at EB Games for a while. Here are some reasons I enjoyed it: -I had a good manager who I was comfortable around. He was very understanding of mental health issues, allowed us to take food breaks if we needed it which should be standard but unfortunately it is not , and he was very flexible with the schedule.

I made so many customer-friends. Sometimes I feel like going back there just for them. I, a person who is passionate about things she loves namely video games , became unenthusiastic about everything.

I was constantly told to stop trying to sell good products and only sell ones that made EB money. Sure, it is sales, I should have known better when getting myself into it; however, I think EB implements selling culture in a way that makes passionate workers hate themselves. With that said, my manager did this constructively, so I never felt overly pressured by him, it was more of just a painful - more Pros Nice coworkers, pretty good management, customer interaction, video games.

Cons Selling culture, mentally draining. Pros great employees and coworkers. Cons lots of standing, minimum wage, only 30 minute lunch break, horrible upper management, does not care about employees. Could be stressful, but overall a fun workplace with incredible people. Since I was a part-time temp, I worked regulating the amount of people in the store most of the time. It was a tough job, since I would stand for hours at a time, but I honestly enjoyed it in a way. My coworkers were the best part of the job, I loved talking and working with them.

It would be about hours of doing whatever job, and then a half an hour to an hour of cleanup if you were on closing. Worked there a few years ago when I decided to go back to school. Left a job in cell phone sales because I needed to cut down on hours and just got burned out being a salesmen. Turns out, this job pushed sales as much if not more than an actual sales job but gave you no commision for it. Basically, your reward for hitting your sales targets is not getting reprimanded.

People I worked with were great, but higher level management were a total joke. The fact that I was working with video games didn't take the sting out, in fact it made me hate thinking about video games outside of work. Discounts were god awful too. If you have any self respect, don't work here and just let them go out of business.

Pros Coworkers. Cons Literally everything else. The management is very supportive and encuraging. The team was welcoming and very helpful during the training process.

Definatly a laid back stress free work enviroment evwn during the holidays. Pros You will constantly be learning new things. Cons Absolutely no cons. This company goes above and beyond to make you not feel wanted. They do not appreciate their staff, and provide no opportunity for development. Lots of empty promises to ensure people continue to give their lives for the company. The only thing that makes this a fun job is the staff, the pay is basically non existant.

Pros coworkers, customers. Cons bad pay, overworked, no development. The warehouse was not a comfortable place to work, with the temperature outside always leaking in, which was especially bad in the summer. But the work is straight forward and the people there are friendly enough.

It's tedious, repetitive, and briskly paced but it was by no means complicated work. Management very rarely helped their departments besides maybe telling them how much longer they had to work on a particular task.

Pros 2 paid 15 minute breaks. Cons terrible insulation for the warehouse, incredibly high turn over rate. Claim this company page. Want to know more about working here? Simple polo or button-up shirt, plain jeans, and basic shoes.
