Associate's Degrees for Professionals. Communication Design AAS Communication Design AAS People interested in launching careers as designers, art directors, and illustrators master the concepts and craft of communication design in this two-year program. Fashion Design AAS This program, intended for career changers, offers instruction in the processes, skills, and language of fashion design.

Career Paths. Parsons' AAS programs enable mature students without a professional or academic background in design to launch a new career in fashion, communication design, or interior design industries. Graduates go on to join major companies and organizations around the world, and some start their own independent practice right out of the gate.

Graphic and Digital Design. Courses Color Theory Discover color and its implications for designers and artists, such as the use of color to solve spatial problems. Graphic Design I Explore the triad of visual communication — message, form, and audience — and apply this concept to typography, composition, and color.

Digital Graphics with Illustrator I Employ curves, lines, and shapes to make objects. After you complete these courses, your next step will be to enroll in the following: Digital Imaging with Photoshop Acquire a working knowledge of this software platform — the industry standard for print, webpages, animation, presentation, video production, and enhancement of traditional and digital photography. The AAS Communication Design curriculum formerly Graphic Design combines historical foundations with conceptual approaches and analytical methods for addressing design challenges.
